MARTIN LINDQUIST as "John Mayer"

M A R T I N   L I N D Q U I S T (John Mayer) has been a regular with the Ontario-based Acorn Theatre for four years and counting. His theatre credits include: a Bohemian in a cabaret performed at the Marriott Marquis Ballroom in New York City’s Times Square; Linus in Something's Cooking For Christmas (Oaks Inn Theatre); Ernie in Born In A Barn (Oaks Inn Theatre); the Count in La Ronde (Circle In The Square Theatre); Haman in the world premiere of Miss Persia (Beth Tikvah Synagogue); and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (Key City Theatre). He has trained at the Circle in The Square Theatre School in New York City and is a student of Carter Thor Studios East in Toronto, under the guidance of acting veteran Jock MacDonald. Lindquist has also performed with music bands the Husky Truckers, Baker Street Irregulars and Toaster Oven Creation Theoryat Canadian venues such as Key City Theatre, Finnegan's Wake and the Studio Stage Door,as well as performed solo at Toronto’s Free Times Cafe, Mitzi's Sister, Smiling Buddha and The Hard Luck Bar. Recently, he made an “instant performance” appearance on paxels.com, a streaming multimedia website.

CARLA LOPEZ as "Carly"

C A R L A  L O P E Z (Carly) is a musical performer whose style has been described by Entertainment Reporter’s Ashley Goodfellow as “a reincarnation of an icon from the 1940s with her smooth, soulful, velvety voice.”Lopez has performed in several Ontario-wide showcases such as the Chocolate Ball at Toronto’s legendary Palais Royale Ballroom and the Chocolate Ball at the historic Liuna Station in Hamilton, Ontario. She composed the original music for the Brianne Hogan production Bad Fish that debuted to a sold-out audience at the Wings Theatre in New York City. Lopez has also appeared at a variety of Toronto’s hot spots, including Jeff Healey’s, The Reverb, Rivoli and The Opera House as well as the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. She trained at York University in musical theatre, and jazz vocal performance and composition. Between play rehearsals, she is back in the studio recording new music with fellow Toronto musician, Peter Roca. Back ToYou: A Dear John (Mayer) Letter is her professional theatre debut.   

 

 

RODRIGO FERNANDEZ-STOLL as "Calvin"

R O D R I G O  F E R N A N D E Z-S T O L L (Calvin) was cast in the 2009 Toronto premiere of Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical directed by Royal Canadian Air Farce’sPenelope Corrinfor Ghost Light Projects. He received recognition by NOW Magazine’s Jordan Bimm as an actor who “consistently nails the required comic register as a batch of horny male townsfolk” for his alternating roles as Greenfelt, Senor Bradley, Nick and Kevin. His TV and film credits include: Soldier Morales in episode six of Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures (2010); Kevin Sylvester in Outlaw Bikers IV (2010); Husband in When I Was Young and In My Prime  (2010); Peter Walrus in Ball Enforcement Agents (2011); and Geek in Mystic (2011). He also provided musical direction for The Armoire directed by Jamie Travis and winner of Best Short Film at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival; and art direction for the 2009 film At Home By Myself...with You starring Kristin Booth (Young People Fucking). He trained at the Humber College School of Creative and Performing Arts for comedy writing and performance and has been performing in plays, sketch shows, film and TV for the past five years.

 

 

BRIANNE HOGAN as "Rihanna"

B R I A N N E  H O G A N (Rihanna) has appeared in many student films and independent theatre productions such as The Importance of Being Earnest (NYU); Major Barbara (NYU); Les Femmes Savantes (Provincetown Playhouse Theatre); Closer (Marilyn Monroe Theatre) and Rabbit Hole (Marilyn Monroe Theatre). Sheproduced her own play, Bad Fish, at New York City’s Wings Theatre in August 2008, which premiered to a sold-out audience and was chosen to participate in the Manhattan Repertory Theatre’s Winterfest in January 2009. In June 2009, Hogan produced another play called Truth . . . or Consequences that she co-wrote with Carla Lopez and premiered at the first-ever Planet Connections Festivity in New York City’s East Village. She is a Dramatic Literature, Theatre History and Cinematic Studies graduate of NYU and trained at the Studio, as well as at the Lee Strasberg Institute for Theatre & Film in New York City. Hogan was described as being “fearless on stage and willing to push herself past comfortable boundaries” by her instructor at Strasberg. She also became a member of the improvisational comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade. After its Canadian premiere at Toronto’s Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Back ToYou: A Dear John (Mayer) Letter will make its American debut at the inaugural Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2010. Brianne is also the writer, director and producer of the play.
